Jamelle Davis is an artist from Edmonton, Canada who believes the future for Art within our society has a BOLD structure. An Art piece that will always be brighter tomorrow than the day it was created in.
My current direction is Artivism and the appreciation of one self. Of others. Of all. My latest work sheds light not only on love and peace but portray a willingness of Bold emotions through colors.
In high school I had the option of going intoFine Art or Sculpture. I chose Sculpting and loved it. 2/3 years ago I decided to take my love for Art and creation to the canvas and haven’t looked back since. The journey has been an enjoyable experience with each moment literally being a teaching moment. Being a self-taught Artist, it was easier for me to find my message, my flow and my purpose within Art as each creation has the intention to bleed pure passion.
A mixture of local artists influence my work and the current climate of the world. My colour selection comes from connectivity to the idea. Van Gogh is my all time favourite artist. I could learn a lot from his abstract.
I think it’s best to not let the process become a tiring one. I like to keep the environment I work in fun and Airy with plenty of sun light but my motivation comes from personal goals I have set for myself as a Human and as an Artist.
I think the direction of Art today, is tomorrow. Today we as a collective of creators are coming together shining lights on wrongful acts and supporting, uplifting those that need it. That’s tomorrow Art.
Tomorrow Art is an Art piece that will always be brighter than the day it was created in. As time moves I am seeing more and more appreciation for Artists and creators.
This brings me hope for the future of the ambitious child that wishes upon a star.
I think the future for Art within our society has a BOLD structure. I believe the direction of today’s Art is tomorrow.
